Greetings!

Calling all bloggers, tweeters, and YouTube addicts!  As part of the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO), our community is working to end the practice of Usury, the exhorbitant interest rates and fees charged by banks that are burying people in what amounts to debt slavery.  We have a unique opportunity to advance the Anti-Usury Campaign by getting involved in a brand new social media strategy.  All those interested in using their talents as writers, researchers, online networkers, and video producers, as well as those who’ve been wondering what all the fuss is about with this Twitter thing and want to learn how to use these tools, are encouraged to email Lauren Jacobson at LaurenRJacobson@gmail.com for more information and attend the initial social media strategy meeting on Tuesday, June 1st, 7:00-8:30pm at the Moishe Kavod House.

On a slightly different note, over the past few months, the Rosh Chodesh/New Moon group has been discussing gender inclusion within the group. Anyone who has been involved with the group or who would like to be involved in the future is invited to contribute to the conversation.  On Monday 5/17 we will be sending an online survey to the Rosh Chodesh list.  If you are not already on the list and would like to be involved in the conversation, please send an email to newmoonkavod@gmail.com with “add me” in the subject.

Until Later,
Alix, Annie, Margie, and Michelle

P.S. Starting in the summer or early fall, we will have at least one space in our house for someone interested in helping to lead our community. Who will the next housemate be? YOU can help decide!  Join our housemate selection committee! We’re looking for folks across the community – though we want diverse representation, no level of Kavod “expertise” or experience is necessary.  Please note committee members will be asked to attend 1-2 meetings and participate in a couple of interviews, the bulk of which will happen in late May and early June.  If you are interested, email juliearonowitz@gmail by Friday, May 21, with your name, and a couple of lines explaining why you want to be on the committee. For more information on applying to be a housemate, click here.
