Weekly Email for March 21st

Greetings -

On Monday, March 15, 2010, the tenants at 110 and 108 McBride Street in Jamaica Plain were the victims of a devastating flood-related fire that left them homeless and without their most basic possessions.  As they did not have any insurance, they are relying on community members to assist them in getting their lives back together by donating used or new household items and/or by donating money which will be used to buy gift cards to essential stores to buy things like groceries and home furnishings. Please click here to find more information about making donations and dropping off items in Jamaica Plain or e-mail Leise at leise.jones@gmail.com.

This Wednesday night is Economic Accountability Night. Moishe/Kavod will join with other members of the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization to fight predatory lending. We will be fighting for everyone sinking in debt just for going to school, buying a house, or having a medical emergency by holding an action on State Treasurer Tim Cahill. The event will take place at  7:30PM at Old South Church,  645 Boylston Street Boston, MA 02116  at the Copley T Stop. RSVP or send questions to andrew.shawhan@gmail.com.

Until Later,
Alix, Annie, Margie, and Michelle
