Greetings!
You are cordially invited to join Hebrew College, Moishe/Kavod House, and Temple Beth Zion (TBZ) for an evening of study, song, and conversation in celebration of the Jewish “New Year of Trees” also known as ”Tu B’Shevat”. The seder (special ritual meal) will explore the relationship between Judaism and Environmentalism and include information on local environmental initiatives. A variety of fruits, nuts, juices, and wines from New England and Israel will be served. Please RSVP to moishehouseboston@gmail.com by Wednesday 1/27 if you’d like to attend. The event will be held THIS SATURDAY at 7:30pm at TBZ in Washington Square (1566 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA).
Our next Moishe/Kavod Shabbat (Feb 5th) will be integrated into the Farm-to-Shul Weekend featuring Nigel Savage, Executive Director and Founder of Hazon, an organization committed to creating a sustainable Jewish community and world. Services will be held at Temple Beth Zion in Washington Square and will be followed by a Potluck back at the Moishe/Kavod House. Nigel Savage will address the congregation during Shabbat Services and talk about the call for Jews to work collectively to create a sustainable food system. The event is being co-sponsored by Moishe/Kavod House, JALSA (Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action), and Temple Beth Zion. In addition, there will be a special Havdalah Event the following evening. Click here for more information.
Until Later,
Alix, Annie, Margie, and Michelle
P.S. Make sure to get your hands on a copy of the Jewish Advocate this week to check out new column OUR TURN, being run by leaders from Moishe/Kavod. This week’s kickoff column is written by housemate Annie Fox.
