Weekly Email for December 1st

Greetings!

Haven’t been to Shabbat in a while? New to the area? This week’s services will be lead by community member Sarah Bolts, and this week’s d’var tikkun (words of healing and justice) will be offered by the Workmen’s Circle  Mutual Aid Society. Moishe/Kavod Shabbat Services (6:30pm) and Potlucks (8:00pm) are great opportunities to celebrate the sabbath with song and food, as well as meet members of our vibrant and welcoming community. Please e-mail azamansk@gmail.com with questions.

Another exciting way to get involved…  A Chanukah-Themed Housing Foreclosure Workshop and Celebration (12/13 at 1pm). The foreclosure crisis is periodically featured in newspapers, but with all the dizzying statistics and technical jargon, it’s hard to wrap your head around and easy to ignore. Come join us as we learn the nuts and bolts of foreclosure, listen to personal stories from tenants who faced foreclosure, do a short text study, and brainstorm together about how we want to continue Moishe/Kavod’s commitment to housing justice. We will be joined by City Life/Vida Urbana, Chelsea Collaborative, and the Community Action Agency of Somerville (CAAS) – 3 amazing grassroots organizations that empower Boston and Somerville folks to stay in their homes! PLEASE RSVP by clicking here. Questions? e-mail Lisa at lnsturtz@gmail.com

Until Later,
Alix, Annie, Margie, and Michelle

P.S. If you’d like to be involved with the planning or prep for our annual Exotic Lattka Party, please e-mail me@sphogan.com
