Hazon Food Conference

Have plans for Christmas? This year, Birthright Israel NEXT invites you to pass on Chinese food for an organic, locally-grown culinary experience in Monterey Bay, CA. Join us at the fourth annual Hazon Food Conference in Monterey, CA December 24-27, where farmers, rabbis, nutritionists, chefs, vegans and omnivores will come together. Explore the current national interest in food and the environment, and how it ties in to Jewish life.

The weekend will link contemporary issues to ancient ones—from the commandment of food justice to the environmental value of letting the land “rest.”

Birthright Israel NEXT doesn’t want a little thing like money to stand in your way of this great opportunity. We are providing 40 Taglit-Birthright Israel alumni with a full subsidy for registration fees and travel to the conference, in a beautiful location surrounded by sandy beaches and pine forests. This will include four days of do-it-yourself food workshops, lectures, yoga, discussions, hiking, joyful Shabbat celebrations, and delicious and consciously prepared food.

You must be a Taglit-Birthright Israel alumnus to be eligible for this subsidy.

PresenTense Boston Social Entrepreneur Fellowship
The CJP/PresenTense Boston Social Entrepreneur Fellowship is designed to support entrepreneurs seeking to launch new ventures in the Boston area that engage, leverage and inspire the Boston Jewish community.

The fellowship is targeted for young adults between the ages of 22-40 living in the Greater Boston area. Applications are due Nov 11.

Application criteria: Fellows will be chosen for how they Engage, Leverage and Inspire.

1. Engage: We intend to encourage young adults within the Greater Boston Jewish community to participate in making a change and seek projects that inspire young adults to be motivated about making positive impact on our community and its surroundings.

2. Leverage: We believe the Jewish community has vast resources–human, social and financial–that can be leveraged for impact, and seek projects that access those resources to solve existing social problems. *(Of course, the fellowship program intends to give you the tools and connections you’ll need to access these resources.)

3. Inspire: We believe the Jewish community is seeking new ideas and heroes to realize our potential, and seek projects that will serve as an example to the community of what can get done when we work together.

Apply online on this page by Nov 11- and for questions, feel free to email bostonfellowship@presentense.org
