Community Retreat

Each year in the early summer, we have a community retreat where we gather for Shabbat away from Boston to build community, bond with new community members, and plan for the year ahead.
Registration is open and spots are filling up fast! Register here!

If you’re interested in planning for or learning more about this year’s retreat, contact Sarah at
Community Retreat 2014
This year the retreat will be from May 30- June 1 at Friendly Crossways in Harvard, MA. We encourage all those connected to the community, or with interest in becoming involved in the community to attend!
The retreat will begin at 6:30PM on Friday May 30th with a Shabbat Pot-Luck in the same fashion as our usual bi-monthly Shabbat Pot-Lucks. Services will be community-led and begin by 6:45PM to be followed by a pot-luck dinner brought by all of us. All other meals for the weekend will be provided by the Community Food Advisory Board (CoFAB), who could use YOUR HELP! See the blurb below about helping with food prep. Saturday and Sunday will include spiritual activities, workshops, community conversations, recreation activities, Shabbat rest, Community Board Elections, and a bonfire! We will leave after lunch on Sunday.

We encourage all those connected to the community, or with interest in becoming involved in the community to attend! Registration includes transportation, food, and activities for the whole weekend. Rates: $65 for Members. Non-members will be asked to pay an additional amount of $36 or more to bring them into the community as members before the retreat.  If cost feels like it will be a barrier to your participation, get in touch with Jason, Finance Chair ( – we want to figure out how to make it work.
If you have an idea for something you may want to teach or share at the retreat as a workshop, contact Retreat Planning Team Member, Aliza Schwartz. For general questions about the retreat, contact Sarah Chappel-Sokol, our Membership Chair.
