I’m looking for a responsible, non-smoking roommate to share my adorable two bedroom apartment in the heart of Davis Square for Feb 15th or March 1st. Rent is $800/month, plus utilities, first and last required. The lease is until September. Female preferred. No dogs, a cat might be negotiable. 4 minute walk to T!

This apartment is a gem! Located around the corner from Rosebud’s in Davis Square, this two bedroom is the entire third floor of a three family house. The landlord is great and lives on the first and second floors of the home. Although it’s on the top floor, it feels spacious and not cramped. It’s mostly furnished, although a few extra bookcases and tables would be welcome. There is also one bathroom (with a tub!), a large living room and large kitchen. The laundry mat is directly in back of the house, one block away.

The room for rent is an unfurnished large bedroom. Room is big enough for a queen size bed, dresser, desk, book shelves, and has LOTS of storage space. Currently painted a nice camel color, but you can paint.

I am a 28 year old designer. I’m into music and yoga, reading, cooking and entertaining. I’m pretty laid back and I value community and love having friends over for dinner parties. I am looking for a roommate who feels comfortable hanging out occasionally, whether it’s cooking together, watching a movie or just talking over a glass of wine.

I’d like to live with someone who wants to share the responsibilities of living in a home, together, not just treating the apartment as a place to sleep. Someone who doesn’t mind contributing to the house, watering plants, taking out the trash and recycling, someone who will do the extra few dishes in the sink that may not be theirs, but will pitch in because that’s what is called for. I’d like to start composting too. Let me know if you are an experienced composter!

If you are interested in meeting me and checking out my place, please email me a little about yourself, what your interests are and what you are looking for out of a living situation.

Thanks!

Davis Sq Sublet
We are looking for a new roommate to sublet a beautiful, spacious four-person apartment a 7-minute walk from Davis Square. The sublet runs from February 1 – August 30, 2010. The house is perfect for grad students or young professionals.

Current roommates are three down-to-earth and fun women in their mid twenties. Sarah is a graduate student in educational neuroscience. She does improv comedy and loves to paint and hike. Emily is a graduate student in graphic design. Also, an amazing dancer and jewelry artist. Megan is a graduate student studying comparative religions. She loves her morning runs and Dan Savage. The fourth is only moving out because she’s being transferred to Malawi for work; she’s sad to go!

You should be comfortable with sharing, yet still extremely respectful of others time and space. Please have a strong desire to keep common areas clean. Be passionate, responsible, and fun. We enjoy frequent dinner parties and the occasional weekend bash.

The room costs 750 per month excluding utilities, 75 extra for exclusive access to the driveway. It’s a spacious third floor room, with shared bathroom. There is a large communal kitchen, living room, and dining room. We also have sunroom, basement storage, and basement coin operated laundry machines.

No smoking, cats, or dogs. Contact: smelgart@gmail.com
