Leadership

The Moishe/Kavod House is currently being run by Margie Klein, Ben Healey, Sarah Gershuny  and Joe Gindi, a great Community Leadership Team, and support from people like you

Margie Klein is a student at Hebrew College Rabbinical
School, and coordinator of the Kavod Jewish Social Justice House.  An NYC native, Margie attended Yale University, where
she was a Jewish and activist leader on campus. At Yale, she and friends founded Jews in the Woods, a vibrant intercollegiate
community of Jews from all backgrounds that continues to thrive. Since college, Margie has traveled the country doing environmental
and political organizing and hosting large Shabbat dinners wherever she goes. From 2003-2005, Margie led Project Democracy,
a national youth voting initiative that mobilized 97,000 college students to vote in the 2004 election.  Margie won the
2005 Heschel Vision Award for her work organizing the Jewish community around social justice issues in DC.  In her spare
time, Margie is an avid cook and hip hop dancer.
Ben Healey, House Member

Ben Healey, 24, was born here in Brookline but grew up in and attended the public schools of his beloved Washington, DC. After five years of political organizing in New Haven, CT, he's come home to the town of his birth to work on a statewide electoral justice ballot initiative out of his Dorchester office. Ben is excited to be a part of this nascent project to build upon an already vibrant Jewish community in Boston dedicated to social justice. In
whatever way this Moishe/Kavod House program can contribute to growing a fun and devoted community of young friends and activists working to transform our little corner of the world, Ben's thrilled to help make it happen.
And if we're going to play a little ultimate frisbee, soccer, or poker on the side -- and catch a bad summer movie or two as well -- he's even more down.

Joseph Gindi, House Member

Joseph Gindi, 27, was a beatboxing monkey in a former life. In this life, he is a Masters student in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University. Joseph loves to pray, drum, and farm, but mostly finds himself reading about American Jewish politics these days. Joseph is always looking to find ways to connect Jews to their radical past (and future).

Sarah Gershuny, House Member

Sarah comes from England, which explains the cute accent. She's lived Stateside before, as a member of a full-time intentional community at the Elat Chayyim Jewish Retreat Center and the experience was so great she came back. She's very excited about studying at Hebrew College rabbinical school, and about facilitating arty activities in the community. She likes jamming, dancing, drumming, singing, painting, meeting new people, dressing up in fabulous colours, obstinately maintaining her allegiance to english english spelling and grammar, and generally being joyful and fun.
