What's In Our Name?

"Who is honored (deserves Kavod)?  The person who honors (gives Kavod to) other people."  "Eizehu mechubad?  Hamechabed et habriot," Pirkei Avot 4:1

At the Moishe/Kavod House, we seek to honor our guests by recognizing the talents each person has to share and empowering young people to strengthen both the Jewish community and local social action work.

Mission:

To create a welcoming and vibrant Jewish community for people in their 20s and 30s dedicated to tikkun olam, the repair of the world.

By integrating arts, study, Jewish spiritual practice, and social justice work, we strive to create a Jewish community that is personally meaningful and deeply engaged with the world.

Together, we work to make a difference on critical progressive issues, to train emerging Jewish and progressive leaders, and to build the Jewish community's capacity to do social justice work effectively now and in the future.
