Board

The Moishe Kavod House Board oversees organizational operations including membership, communications, finance, and development.  The Board also guides the community in leadership development and visioning and makes policy decisions in order to ensure that we operate in a way that reflects our shared values and priorities.  The Board consists of five elected members and all resident organizers.  For more information about board positions and past  elections, click here.

Riana Good- President

Riana is a teacher and board member at the Boston Teachers Union School in JP.  She has been involved at Moishe Kavod for four years, and is a leader on the housing justice and arts team.  Riana is known for her grounded and calming presence, and for giving the best massages at Moishe Kavod.

Adina Koch – Membership Chair

Adina holds a Masters in sociology, and while she is not running organizations, she is really,
really good with kids.  Relatively new to Moishe Kavod, Adina quickly stepped up, became leader of the Shabbat team, and was the the proud co-coordinator of last years Moishe Kavod membership retreat before joining the board.

Rabbi Margie Klein – Moishe Kavod Founder and Communications Chair

Margie is the rabbi at Shaarei Shalom in Ashland, and is also working to create a national network of Jewish social justice houses in the model of Moishe Kavod.  She is co-editor of Righteous Indignation: A Jewish Call for Justice (Jewish Lights).  In her spare time, Margie loves to sing and dance hip hop, though not necessarily at the same time.

Jill Lofchie- Finance Chair

Jill is a Home Base Clinician at Wayside Youth and Family Support Network. She holds an MSW with a focus on families and an MA in Dispute Resolution.  Jill has been around Moishe Kavod since the beginning, and served as Membership Chair last year.  Jill loves to dance and is always excited for others to join her for late night dancing at Golden Temple after Shabbat.

Nina Robinson- Development Chair

Nina is the Program Manager for Growing Annual Fund Revenue at the Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education. She holds an MBA in Non-Profit Management and MA in Jewish Professional Leadership from the Heller/Hornstein program at Brandeis University.  Nina is passionate about making Moishe Kavod financially sustainable, and can be found making homemade ice cream and gchatting anyone who will listen to get them to support Moishe Kavod.

Anne Fox- Resident Organizer

Annie Fox hails from New York City, full of pride in her home town, the “Upper West Side”.   A graduate of Wesleyan University, Annie also completed a fellowship at Adamah and at the Jewish Organizing Initiative.  She is now the community organizer for the Jewish Association for Law and Social Action (JALSA).  An avid dancer, eater and political wonk, Annie is passionate about building caring communities that act on their values.

Aaron Gunning- Resident Organizer

Aaron Gunning is very pleased to be joining the Moishe Kavod House as a Resident Organizer after just one year living in Boston and being part of the Moishe Kavod community.  Aaron is currently a second year masters degree candidate in Community Education Leadership at Boston University’s School of Education? “What does that mean he’ll do when he grow’s up”, you may ask. Ummm….he’ll get back to you.

Tslil Shtulsaft – Resident Organizer

Tslil Shtulsaft was born on a kibbutz in Israel’s Northern Galilee and raised in Long Island, N.Y.  Beginning in the fall of 2011, Tslil will be working towards an MBA/MA dual degree program at Brandeis University with a focus on non-profit management and Jewish professional leadership. Tslil is an avid traveler and has spent time all over Asia and the Middle East. When he is not working, studying or traveling, Tslil can be found dancing at any one of Boston’s live music venues.

Helen Bennett - Resident Organizer

Helen Bennett is a farmer, educator, learner and organizer. Helen is from Seattle, where she went to school for Community Planning, Jewish Studies, and Comparative Religion at the University of Washington. After school and some adventures to the Far East, she spent a year living at and working for ADAMAH: The Jewish Environmental Fellowship.  Helen is happy to be living and organizing at Moishe Kavod as her Jewish Organizing Initiative placement this year. She likes mint tea, niggunim, and arts and crafts. Helen is new to Boston and excited to meet you!
